What We Believe

We believe that there is one God as defined in the Nicene Creed and Apostles Creed. We believe that God created the world and all that is in it. We believe that all people were created in the image of God for the purpose of glorifying God and enjoying Him forever. As a result we believe there resides within each person a special dignity which reflects the image and glory of God.

We believe that in creation, God endowed men and women with a free will to make decisions regarding their beliefs and actions. We believe that in Adam (the first man), man chose his own will over that of God’s and that since Adam, all men and women are infected with the root sin of placing greater trust in their own wisdom and abilities over that of God's wisdom and abilities. Because of this, we believe that within all men and women resides a depravity, in conflict with their created purpose and in rebellion against God. As a result, we believe that all men and women are under God’s judgment, separated from God and unable to please God on their own.

We believe that God loved the world so much that in His son, Jesus Christ, He freely chose to leave the love, riches, security and enjoyment of heaven, and humble Himself by coming to earth as a human being with the purpose of saving men and women from their sin so that He could spend eternity in heaven with them. In so doing, He subjected Himself to humiliation including death on a cross as a sacrifice of atonement for the forgiveness of our sins to demonstrate His justice and provide us with righteousness apart from the law for all who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the sufficiency of His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of their sins and reconciliation with Him.

We believe that all men and women have desires that cannot be satisfied in this world and can only be satisfied by God in Heaven. We believe that God is actively at work in all people's lives, which God has promised to provide all that is needed and good in each person's life, and that He is willing and able to do so. We believe that men and women struggle to understand and believe this and spend their lives independently chasing desires that will not be satisfied in this life resulting in a life of ongoing struggle and frustration. We believe that this pursuit causes men and women to justify selfish and harmful actions they would otherwise not condone and that are in conflict with God's will. We believe that through these actions, men and women alienate themselves from God, others and the world around them leading to a life of guilt, shame and isolation. We believe the pursuit of these desires within people serve as evidence of both our depravity (our demand to have our own will be done independent of God) and our dignity (that we were created in God's image, not for this world, but for another better world (Heaven) where all desires will be satisfied in God).

We believe that God is gracious and merciful, that He loves men and women, and that He will freely accept and forgive any man or women, regardless of their deeds in this life, who truly believe themselves to be in need of rescue from their rebellion against God and who believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God and the Savior of sinners through His death and resurrection.

We believe that those facing an unplanned pregnancy are no greater sinners than other men and women and are worthy of the dignity which exists within them as God’s children designed to glorify God and enjoy Him and they are worthy of God’s grace and forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that each baby within the womb is a miraculous creation of God and fully and uniquely human at the time of inception and though still in the womb, worthy of the dignity which exists within them as God’s children designed to glorify Him and enjoy Him. We believe abortion to be a rejection of and rebellion against God’s will in the pursuit by man and woman of their own desires in this life. We believe God’s grace extends to those who have chosen abortion in the past and that His forgiveness is available to them through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe redemption from guilt, shame and isolation is available to all through faith in Jesus Christ.

Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.
